  • When reading the weekly update Dr. Steve Plank shares with the board he included the following message about Mike Jones.  Since we all know Mike this does not come as a surprise to us and we are all proud to have the ability to work with you Mike!!!  Way to model The Karcher Way!
    • Plank to the board:
      • A wonderful email to coach Mike Jones - This is the kind of class we should all be striving for and celebrating. With behavior like this the wins will follow. Enjoy this wonderful note:
    • Message from the coach to Plank:
      • Hi there, I am the Head Coach of the St. Catherine's/Racine Lutheran Boys Volleyball Team. I just wanted to make you aware of a situation tonight that Mike Jones handled incredibly. We were winning in the 3rd set of our match tonight, where arguably my best player had to come out after opening up his chin from diving for a ball. We only have 7 players, so I didn't really have an option to sub him that wouldn't make him ineligible to play if the match went into another game. I used the allotted injury time, and used back to back time outs, at which point, my player still wasn't ready to go in. Mike used one of his time outs to make sure we had all the time possible to get our player back on the court. He absolutely didn't have to do that, and could've taken advantage of the situation but he didn't. I just wanted to let you know how wonderful we all thought that act was. I thanked him, my boys thanked him, my parents thanked him, but I wanted to make sure you knew.  Thanks,  Kara Avery
  • Kudos to Becky Sagedal and the numerous staff members that assisted with the cross country meet on Monday, held at BHS.  There were over 10 middle school teams and it was a GREAT night for a meet!  So great to always see the support from Karcher staff for after school events across the district!
  • Kudos to Jack Schmidt and Stephanie Rummler along with the Hive and Silver House teachers on two great days for our students at the state capital.  The Silver House even was able to witness live action in the assembly room of an actual debate taking place!  How cool is that!
Video this week!
Instead of an article this week here is a video clip from Fox 6 talking about our new middle school!  Such an appropriate time with our Groundbreaking ceremony taking place this Wednesday night!  Side note... not really that fun to watch yourself on TV...

Diamond House chose 4 students who went above and beyond for the month of September when it comes to following The Karcher Way.  Each student then was able to pick a friend to join them to have pizza with the Diamond House teachers in our student lounge!  Great idea Diamond House and yet another way for us to emphasize positive behavior within Karcher!
